Ordinary.
It can mean common, traditional, humdrum, everyday. Boring.
I disagree!
I find that the ordinary person is more inspiring than the starlet, the tycoon or the power broker.
I firmly believe that it is the Ordinary Citizen who makes this world go ’round. I passionately feel that we are desperate to hear the stories of Ordinary Citizens who make a difference.
But, what is an Ordinary Citizen?
Frankly, I’m still figuring that out. I’d love to hear your perspective on it.
I want to periodically profile Ordinary Citizens who show us what it means to be extraordinary. If you know of somebody who should be profiled, please contact me.
Let’s tell the story of the Ordinary Citizen!
So, who writes this thing?
Just some ordinary ol’ guy named Wade Abbott.
I’m a husband to a wonderful wife. I’m blessed to be the father of two young boys. I have a bachelor’s degree in materials engineering from RPI. I recently completed my master’s degree in public communication at The College of Saint Rose.
My life seems to revolve around my family, roller coasters, LED Christmas lights, wacky Halloween costumes for the kiddos, an appreciation of college hockey and a love of Star Wars. I’ll keep sharing some of that. I’m also a bit of a political junkie. In the past, I’ve written at length about politics, but I’m trying to move away from that direction.
Fair warning: I might throw in some humor, some of it *ahem* pun-ishing. Possibly some sarcasm, too.
Ultimately, I believe that I’m just an average guy. And I’m okay with that.
I’m in good company.

/ February 20, 2010I assure you I will be reading your blog regularly. Being your proud grandmother, I presume I might be a wee bit prejudiced, but I strongly feel that we need more upright, ethical citizens(like you)taking an active role in politics. Keep it up!

/ February 19, 2011I have been searching AND searching for someone who shared my spiritual beliefs. I haven’t searched your site thoroughly but it looks like we have otherwise pretty much nothing in common. It was very nice to find you by accident and I will visit again.

/ February 19, 2011Thanks for stopping by. I, too, enjoy stumbling across other people’s blogs. Some of my favorite blogs have been accidental discoveries. I’ll have to check yours out, too.

Berny Desroches
/ September 27, 2011Hi
My name is Berny Desroches. I just joined the Albany 912 Tea Party group. It’s nice to know that other people in this “true blue state” have views that depart from what is considered normal and righteous. I am a retired Civil Servant who believes in this great country. I have traveled in over 40 states, including Alaska, and have really enjoyed talking to people about many subjects including politics. I will read this blog with great interest and hope to contribute some comments to it. Thanks for creating it.
